"In Ireland this world and the world we go to after death are not far apart."
-W.B. Yeats
Loughcrew Cairns, Newgrange, Co. Meath
Simple and dignified, the 'Tumulus Ring Collection' is inspired by the famous tumulus burial chambers, scattered across the Irish landscape. The tumulus was made up of a mound of earth and stones raised over a burial chamber.  The burial chambers, originating from the late Megalithic/ early Neolithic period are said to be older than Newgrange itself, dating between 3,500 B.C. and 3,300 BC. This circular burial site is reminiscent of the eternity ring; symbolic of the continuous infinity ring where death creates life, and life creates death in an endless yet elegant continuum.

This premise of the tangible connection and permeable boundary between the otherworld and ours is one which has resonated across Irish history, as embodied in the words of Yeats above. Life and death are seen as two parts of the one whole; a connection which is at once ethereal, Elysian, and eternal.
